US needs better stamps

Canada has a new set of postage stamps honoring sweet treats! Do you they are flavored, too, when you lick 'em? Canadian dessert stamps

Flavored stamps would be great. I bought these crazy ball stamps a couple of weeks ago, so the USPS does try to change it up every now and then.

And I’m on my last of these WPA stamps, which I loved:

Do they even make stamps that you have to lick anymore?

    True Tere. No thanks.

That said, I do like fun stamps. The other day I took all my Papyrus cards for my April birthdays to get stamps. They had a celebrate one that I liked.

No, I don't wanna lick stamps either. Actually, I rarely have a stamp when I need one, which is a rarity in itself these days, so I've kinda come to resent having to make a trip to the post office on occasion to buy a book. Then again, a book will last just about forever, for as little use as I have for stamps these days.

Are the fun stamps ‘forever stamps’? It’s been years since I’ve bought stamps but I know my grocery store and CVS has them at the check out.

All stamps are forever stamps now, I think, at least the ones that you buy in places like the grocery store.

I used to go through a whole roll of stamps about every three months, but now one of those so-called books lasts me a couple of years.

ETA If you're willing to go to the P.O. there have been a lot of very pretty stamps the past few years.

DH studies the Civil War, I appreciate wordplay, so when I saw this at the post office I new I had to get the poster (they gave it to me) and a sheet of the stamps.

Gosh, i can’t even remember the last time I licked a stamp. It would be fun if they had an aroma, though. Mmm, the smell of fresh baked pie. I noticed I got a piece of mail with a Scooby Doo stamp that was really cute. My latest stamps are a Peace Rose.

Boathouse, life be that poster. Vary clever.

Okay the sentence above was written by autocorrect. What I meant was Bpath, love that poster. Very clever.

I just checked out the USPS site. They still sell rolls of stamps! The kind you lick, 100 to a roll. That amount used to last a long time back in the day of paying bills by mail.

    PS Love those Canadian stamps!

Dedtired, that sure is funny autocorrect, it didn't get one thing right!

zalco, I still buy stamps by the roll for my dad. I pay a lot of his bills by check still, for the local service, maintenance, and repair folks. I've changed a couple over to auto charge or auto pay, but not everyone is set up for that.

I love sheets of stamps, they have some great designs. I love the WPA stamps!

Teehee, somehow that sheet of dessert stamps seems very Canadian.

I also buy stamps at the USPS site. They have a lot more designs available there than our local post offices. About the only time I buy and use a lot of stamps anymore is during the holidays. though.

There are some pretty and some cool stamps now. Alabama is celebrating its bicentennial this year and has a really pretty stamp to celebrate. I had a photo of it but can’t find it. I love the sports balls and WPA shown.

I just buy the good old American flag ones. Easy to spot/find in a full drawer. If I bought different design, I would never know what I was looking for!

I had stamps that looked like popsickles that were scratch and sniff!

My favorites were the Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Rankin-Bass claymation characters) for Christmas, and commemoration of the Ford Mustang.

Favorite stamp I ever had was Paul Newman. Sigh. Should have saved one.
