Need help with kitchen remodel!!!

We bought our house over 10 years ago from the estate of the original owner of the house. It had not been updated. There was carpet everywhere including the bathrooms. We have remodeled every room in the house except for the kitchen. I have been living with avocado green double wall ovens and vent hood along with a very blond Formica counter top and yellow brick linoleum.

We have been saving to finally get the kitchen done! The maple shaker cabinets were installed 3 weeks ago and the quartz counter top was installed 2 weeks ago. It is a soft white with cream, light tan and gray. We have all new appliances and I am beyond thrilled! My husband and I have done a LOT of work to get the kitchen to this point. My husband has been in construction for over 50 years but he does not do plumbing or electrical!

I don’t want my kitchen to be BORING!!

I really need help picking a backs plash tile, a pendant for over the sink, wall paint and a window covering.

Backsplash: Everything I see online that I love is either way too big of a format or outrageously expensive as you can see from the attached pics. I love chevron and herringbone patterns.

Pendant: I don’t want it to disappear. We are not crazy about clear glass pendants where you can see the light bulb.

Paint: Most of the rooms in the house are painted two taupe colors—one is light and the other is darker. Several years ago my husband expanded the opening to the kitchen from the dining room and put stacked stone on the wall where the refrigerator had been. He made an alcove into the garage area for the refrigerator. He threw some paint on the wall which is the darker taupe and I think it needs to be a different lighter color.

Window Covering: I don’t know what to do with the window—Roman shade, wood blinds?? We are going to tile to the ceiling above the window and to the ceiling behind the vent hood. (We are waiting for the vent hood cover).

The Oak Armoire stays since it holds EVERYTHING! My husband does almost all the cooking and he uses the Maple butcher block several times a day, so it stays too. I would say our style is transitional. We have contemporary with some family antiques. I don't know why the tile floor looks so awful in these pics. It doesn't look like this in person

Thanks for any ideas you may have!
