If you dig carefully, retaining as much of the rootball as possible and replant promptly, then all that should happen is a slight delay in any more new growth as they recover and re-establish. Will require more watering this season just as any other newly planted plant would.

If you are careful, most plants will respond very favorably to being moved at this time of year. Usually just a temporary setback in new growth or flowering. Later in the season it becomes much more of a challenging issue.

Have your new spots ready to transplant. Best to pick an overcast day to dig them up. Do this in the evening if you can or early morning is next best. keep mulched and watered. Larger the rootball the better

If you want to put them back into their original spot after the work is done, or if you cannot replant immediately, I've had very good success "holding" large transplants by just loosely wrapping their rootball with plastic. I make sure the roots are moist and covered, then I keep the plants out of direct sun until they can be replanted.
