As far as bi-levels go, that's actually one of the better-looking ones I've seen. Look up the recently posted "Mansard Roof Bilevel." Trust me--you'll see yours in a whole new light.

Your house isn’t ugly, it’s just way too ORANGE!
Painting will probably look great especially with your dark windows.
As for a porch I like your metal roof over the front door. It looks like the hardscape around the door is quite small judging by the overgrown shrub next too the door. I don’t think I’d build anything, but I’d enlarge the walkway out by the door and improve the landscaping!

Once you put a new dark charcoal roof on it will look like brand new - much of the orange will be gone. Why don't you wait until then?

It looks like the shakes are unpainted. Are they? If they are yellow, painting them and the other trim will also help.

I would plant ornamental trees and a native tree that will grow large to ground the house. An arbor over the garage would look nice and I'm sure a pergola out back will fit in well.

I couldn't make it white but wanted to show you that it will look fine painted.

Landscaping will make more difference than you'd think.

I think it would be great with white.

I would not change any of the architectural details of the house.

Is that a white house next door to the right? Even if you have your heart set on white, don’t make it even remotely look like the color of the neighbor’s house.

Or could that be a granny flat or party room on the same property?
