VFW Donation quilt

I have been trying to post this since DECEMBER, but using my tablet, the picture wouldn't load!

I made this for my brother's VFW post in Arizona for a fundraiser they are holding. It finished 60 x 72.
They sold 200 tickets for $10 each, so they raised $2000!! I am so happy to have been able to help them out. My brother and I both loved this panel with the three soldiers in the background.

Very nice, Sue! I’m glad you raised so much money!

Yesterday I had to upload my quilt picture using my tablet (iPad) because my lame PC wouldn’t do it. :)

What a beautiful and meaningful quilt. Selling tickets was a good way to go. It seems like auctions don't bring in as much money.

This is very special of you to do this Sue! My father In-law was a vet of 3 wars (WWII, Korea, & Vietnam), I know how much effort & love he put into his VFW post, but alas, most of his peers and him have passed on. I wish I had been quilting when he was alive, I would have been proud to make the post a quilt for fund raising. So special for such a deserving group!

It's beautiful, Sue. The message is subtle, but there. I'm always leary of using large areas of solid fabric, but this definitely called for it so that attention would not be diverted away from the panel and it's message. Maybe if I could loop-de-loop FMQ, those big blank areas wouldn't scare me. :-)
