@Jen B. Believe it or not...No! And I’m going nuts. They are going in after our new windows are installed...and there’s been another delay on that end! Ugh. I will post as soon as I do...in fact once we get the windows installed i will be able to lay the planks from the sample box out next to our new white walls (with natural lighting) which will help too. But at that point we should be very close. We have ordered them (and I’m guessing they are in) so no going back. Did you change your mind on some of those new colors you got? I thought Raven wood looked nice in your photos.

@jenwinston73 Sorry you're still waiting! Hopefully it gets installed soon! I can't wait to see it :) I think Sweet has too much green and, although I love the color, I I didn't love the grain pattern on the Ravenwood. There are new floors being released this year so I thought I would give it a little more time to see if I find exactly what I want but the more pictures I see of Calypso, the more I love it.

jen B - did you order a box of calypso? I think it looks really good in person but I don’t always love how it shows in photos...so weird how that happens! I recommend trying it out. My main complaint is I prefer the longer/wider planks. Maybe the new ones will have it all (color and length/width). But too late for me...I better just love what I have. One thing that may be to my advantage is that we do not have an open floor plan so the planks seem a little longer in our small rooms.

@Miriam K Thanks for sharing your picture and experience. I have no doubt that CoreTec is the leader of LVP and makes great design and innovation in this floor category. So do many other good brands on the market. IMO, it just can't make the wood floor loving families to get the same experience of natural wood floors, solid or engineered. Unfortunately every showroom across the country is occupied with unlimited displays of different brands. I would ask myself 2 questions at the time of shopping my main living area floor. "Do I mind repeat patterns on the same lengths boards in every 6 pieces?" "Do I like to have a floating floor for my main floor?" This is just my 2 cents.

@jenwinston73 I am contemplating Calypso, but have been reading some complaints that it looks waxy, shows footprints, and always looks dirty. What has your experience been with the Calypso?

Heather P I Have not experienced any issues. But we haven’t moved into the place yet.I have walked in there with shoes a ton but not bare feet. Also I think the issues may be more apparent on the darker colors. So far I love it but will really no more later after we move in.

Heather P - I don’t remember bringing a sample home but I think it might have been one of the colors that was on back order when we were looking. The images of Cairo look nice. I feel like now there are a lot more options of the lighter warm colors. When we were looking we had a hard time finding something we liked.

@jenwinston73 I too am looking for a warm color, but am a little concerned Calypso will be too light for me. Were there any other brands/colors that you were considering?

Heather P. It’s actually not too light. Some of our rooms don’t get a lot of light and the floor is much darker. The color I really liked was from Provenza and is called Sweet Talker. Look that one up. There is more of a color variance between the boards but it looks really natural. My husband didn’t care for the darker color in it.

@jenwinston73 I too liked Sweet Talker, but my husband nixed it because of the variation. I think I'm just going to have to buy a box of the Calypso :) Thanks for all your help!

@Sanya Sanich - we purchased our Calypso before Covid. We’ve only installed half of it but we have the other half ready for when we get to that part of our construction project. Have you tried regular flooring stores?

@jenwinston73 been driving all over Los Angeles from one retailer to another between Coretec and Provenza I have not gotten one color available in the next 2 (most need 6 weeks). Today I learned Coretec comes from the same distributor in GA for Costco and all the other dealers so the dates are 100 % same. Tonight I decided to cancel the project and live on the carpet at the new home… until things get back to normal.

Can’t install something I don’t love…

I just had Calypso Oak by CoreTec installed in my house last week! LOVE IT. My 1979 ranch house has different lighting throughout which makes the tone of the LVP look lighter and darker depending on the room. Photos do add warmth to color. It is a beautiful, light/light-medium plank that is neutral and perfect to begin my redecorating process. I plan on painting my maple kitchen cabinets white, getting rid of all the gold tones! Mindyvaughn - Thanks! Here’s another photo with some furniture in the room. It’s a cloudy day, so a little darker than normal. The wall paint is Sherman Williams Pure White. For the baseboards, I just used the color my contractor often uses. It’s Behr (Home Depot) True White.

Does anyone have pictures of Calypso with off white kitchen cabinets ? Here is my kitchen and I’m hoping it will look nice. I think I may have to buy new stone for our counters in the very near future to brighten it up. Getting rid of the tan colour on the walls as well with something light and bright.

@Vickie Boomhour Thompson - we used Sherman Williams Pure White on the walls. This is/will be the paint we use throughout the majority of the house. It’s a nice neutral shade of white that doesn’t pull too much yellow or blue.

Lilian Black - I think it depends on who you ask. Sometimes I feel like it looks a little rustic (but doesn’t look too rustic like some others that I have seen). I have also heard people say the style is too modern for their home. So I think it can go either way depending on the style of furniture, etc. we are in the process of building a new room that will have large windows and a large accordion glass door. I feel like that room is on the modern side. We’ll have this floor in there and I think it will still go nicely.

I would recommend buying a box and laying out the boards to get a feel for it in a large area.

@Vicki Boomhour Thompson What did you end up doing, if anything? Calypso? New countertops? We are actually installing white cabinets and black countertops like you have, but we have white paint (BM Chantilly Lace) and Calypso Oak. We're still in constructions so I don't have photos, curious what you have done.

I hope im not too late to this thread, but where can i purchase this color of LVP?? Do yall order online or tend to find it locally through flooring vendors that sell Shaw peoducts? Im desparately trying to find a lighter but warm tone LVP that doesnt have a ton of knots and variations.

We ordered ours through a local flooring dealer. It’s still a popular color, so I would think you’d be able to find it. It’s always recommended to order 1 box first to confirm you are happy with the color in different lighting. Good luck!

So Floor City is legit? I have been going through different flooring stores in my area that have Coretec flooring just so I can get a real-life visual, but with the end goal of buying it online.

I must say, I was very surprised to see Calypso Oak in real life. It is shades lighter than the pictures online.

Hi mikellamaughan, sorry for the delay in responding. We ended up painting the cabinets Benjamin Moore Simply White but kept our granite. We installed the Calypso throughout and we love it!!

@Vicki Boomhour Thompson That turned out great! We almost went with Simply White also but in our lighting I was afraid it was too yellow. Every house is different, we went with Chantilly Lace which has almost no undertone at all. Looks like we have pretty similar taste!

We have calypso oak installed in our house and we love it. We have lived here (a renovation) for 3 weeks now, and really like the way it looks. It's really easy to clean, it looks beautiful, and feels great.

We were hesitant to install this type of floor because we had read reviews from many about a tendency for this LVP product to have a sandy or cracking noise when stepped on. We do not have that problem, and we have read that this is an installation issue (dependent upon the cleanliness of the sub floor or the type of subfloor installed below it?). Regardless, we do not have this issue and we are so lucky to have listened to the store we were buying it from (who had never heard of this issue with this product).

If you like the way it looks, I recommend installing this product.

We installed Calypso Oak two years ago and I would not recommend. It always looks dirty even after washing. My sister installed the same floors and hates them for the same reason. She’s considering ripping them up. It’s such a disappointment as we both spent a lot of money on them.

Calypso Oak is absolutely gorgeous!! My husband has been installing floors for over 15 years and he said it is the nicest floor he has ever worked with!!

@amy horney - do they lock super tight or is there occasional space between the locks and small dust can get in? also, the soles of my feet seem to be hurting after walking barefoot on this floor.
