A close up would be most helpful for identification but it sure looks a lot like chickweed to me. Can form very large patches if left unchecked. If the more common annual form, can be easily pulled out of moist soil.

Could well be chickweed. If it is it's about the most impressive patch I've ever seen. A close up will confirm. And please don't nuke it. Just pull. It's easy to get up.

well I screwed up. this time of year i'm always up to my eyeballs in bees. checking, feeding, splitting hives, & capturing swarms so the chickweed got put on a back burner & now it's gone to seed. so even if i pull it, it will definitely be back next year. does this burn out & go dormant in the heat of summer. I also just noticed some sort of broader leafed weed trying to take over a front bed. normally i'd just make shallow horizontal passes with a shovel & sift out the soil but my bluebell patch is spreading in that area & I can see a lot of new bluebell shoots amongst the weeds so there are bluebell roots that I cannot see.
