"Bird Drop No. 2"

"Bird Drop No. 2" is probably not going to be something you WANT, but I thought you all might enjoy seeing it.

We had intended to buy 'Guadalupe Volunteer" from the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden.

We ended up with "Bird Drop No. 2" -- a different chance seedling from the same place in the garden. (It no longer exists in the garden.)

But as it happens, we did very well, by accident.

"Bird Drop No. 2" lives right next to a wild bee hive - and the bees love it. It is fragrant, impervious to disease, and moderate in size by comparison to 'Guadalupe Volunteer'

"Bird Drop No. 2" blooms profusely, for a long period in the spring, and I LOVE the delicate quality of the smallish blooms, in moderately-sized clusters.

And unlike many "Ramblers" -- it really does bloom well here. What's not to like?
