Pool deck is blue-gray cement, should be white-gray, can I fix it?

We had a crack that needed to be repaired. Had the guy who did the original deck on the pool come out to repair. He said it would quite match. Now we have a mismatched area that looks odd. Can we do anything to lighten up the blue-gray area?

There is no way to lighten up that patched area. It will always be a mis-match. It may lighten up after a season in the sun, but probably not enough to blend with the original pour.

A consideration to make it uniform, is to allow that patched area to fully cure (28 days) and apply a patio coating/paint.

Kelley Technical coatings makes a line called Patio Tones. There are several different colors available. They are water based, easy to apply and provide a non-kid finish.

It takes time for the new patch to dry. It will lighten up in time. Maybe wait through the summer season before you attempt anything then reevaluate.

Have you ever power washed the rest of the deck? That will fequently leave a pink/beige tinge to the cement.
