I went down to Lowes and pretended my hands didn't bend easily /fingers didn't work well ... imagining what it might be like to be elderly and have hands with reduced function ... and knobs were the big losers of the day. Larger pulls were the winners. Larger pulls also have the benefit of being able to hold a dish towel.

I had to go to my KD's shop today to drop off a check for two drawers that are being made to fill-in the dog nest area in my kitchen, Dogs are no longer using it they way it once was used and I can use the storage. He had changed most of the display kitchens since I was last there and I was fascinated to see what he had done. This is one of two very high end kitchen/bath places in the city. The other one has limited things to "see" and is all locally made custom. This is where most people go who are looking for a higher end kitchen.

I can tell you that in ALL the display kitchens in the shop (I believe there are 5), ALL were pulls and all used the same size pull on everything. It just looks more cohesive and pulls are SO much easier to use to open something (says an old lady with arthritic hands).

Add me to the pull crowd, that knob is weird! I love the pull though.

I’ll differ prefer the mixture of knobs on cabinets and pulls on drawers. I have found the knobs stay cleaner and are easier to clean than pulls. I have to clean some of my most used pulls daily. The pull on the trash pullout is predictably and obviously the worst.

I've decided to use pulls on all of my cabinets. I will probably use the widest ones on the super wide drawers and narrower ones on some of the smaller cabinets. I'm making sure that the pulls come far from the cabinets to minimize wear on the paint. I agree with Mrs. Pete about needing an easy pull for older fingers. That is the same reason we whose handles instead of knobs on the doors. Good luck. Design fatigue is real!

I like pulls on drawers and knobs on doors. I have rectangular Amerock knobs in my kitchen (Revitalize) and they haven't budged in seven years.

Are the doors in the vanities pull-outs? They would take a pull if so. If they're door cabinets, it seems you have used doors there so it doesn't get too busy with the drawers at the make-up table, but that's a lot of cabinet storage to fill.
