I’m going to try really hard to NOT divide any hosta this year.

I was thinking I would say “ I finally have every garden bed to my liking!” Hmmmm....... I’ve been saying that for at least 20 years.......I think I’m going with tsugajunkie, the right idea for sure ; )

I like your resolution, Erin. I have a similar one. My resolution was that I am going to try to do a better job of organizing and utilizing my vast collection of garden "junk". I also made a resolution to part with some things, including broken or faded items. I've even given away a few pots already this year and will be giving more away soon. This is something I do with real hesitation as I have a real attachment to pots of all kinds.

I'm going to try to stay on top of slug, rabbit and deer control this year. I've already did some ammonia drench and sprayed the pips with critter deterrent. Will see how the year pans out, especially after a three week absence in July/August.

True Ken. To me, it has value beyond "junk". But even for me, I feel as if some of it could be relocated and repositioned in better ways. And some of it can just go away.

I have also decided to not plant any veggies this year. I really want to grow a nice crop of giant Zinnias. I am going to try growing them in my raised veggie bed to see if that does the trick as I have not had success with them in the past.

I am going to get rid of a whole bunch of my garden art( junk) as once the hosta come up and open they are not visible anyway and they are in my road when I try to get through . Besides they all need a major cleaning and with my back the way it is now, I am too far behind to do it all . Like your idea Ken too . I have Ligularia coming up like weeds everywhere but never have trouble giving them away

cooper8828, that's hilarious about the google image with your hose! I too have that issue. Last year, I was going to buy one of these fancy hoses that has its own reel. But I never did.

Lol I am relieved to hear that I am not the only person who can't seem to put the hose away. It's just that it took such energy to get it exactly where I wanted it without squishing plants.....

I had resolved not to let the spring get away from me without getting the mulch down... last year was a disaster, with weeds popping up all season, and hot temps! So I've got that done - phew!

But my goal now is to get as many of the potted hostas planted out as possible, as soon as possible. I don't really want to have to move 30-some pots in-and-out of the garage every year.

Mulch is next on my chores list. Lovely rain last night, I know the weeds are growing as well as the hostas!

My resolution is to take care of what I have without buying endless new plants.

oh I wish, Eleven! Endless plants is as close to heaven as I could wish! Well as beside as World Peace and just as likely!
