Hmmm! Seems to me you said you might be making potato salad for the swap! Since you seem to be digging up warty toads "like potatoes," might you be willing to assure us all that the potato salad is made with real POTATOES!

So, to summarize, for the swap we'll all be coming up to a House Of Plagues, and eating Toad Salad, right???

Haha, well, Woodhouses toads are nocturnal for the most part so you will all be safe from the luttle guys. They are actually kind of neat, I think. They also eat lots of bugs so I like having them around. But, I'm pretty sure they would make a pretty awful tasting "potato" salad, so reast easy, I won't serve anyone any toads!

Do any of them turn into princes when you kiss them? :-)

Awww!! I absolutely adore Woodhouse toads. They really love hanging out in my garden; now I wonder if they're tucked in my beds, as well? I hope yours are doing ok after their early wake up call....

Haven't tried kissing them yet, but I will try to get one and somone at the swap can give it a go ;).

I hope they would stick around the garden, toads can be beneficial for pest control. It wasn't too terribly early I don't think, I also found holes the ones who had emerged "naturally" left behind. I quit digging in the garden after I found the second one. Didn'twant to disturb, or impale, any.
