I live your B. Prevost. Doesn't it smells Devine. Mine just started to put some new growth. Oh, I wish it will bloom more buds as it grows :)

Oh, Lisa! Just lovely! Molineux is one of my top 5 favorite roses and I always enjoy seeing pics of him. I have Orlaya growing at his feet too and I think the combo is stunning.

The roses and companion flowers are lovely. Baronne Prevost is a great rose, and yours looks awesome.

I like Bubble Bath and Mme Alfred Carriere; I enjoy their many blooms throughout the season. (they are much more restrained in size in my zone.)

Ah ha! Now I know what is the name of the beautiful rose out front -- Baronne Prevost. Mine is over-loaded with buds and blossoms too, Thanks for the pics.

My gosh, so so beautiful. I wonder if Baronne Prevost will have room for all those buds to open. I can't get enough of Bubble Bath, and love its growth habit. It perfectly illustrates how a garden needs roses with small blooms. The pictures make me think of a lovely, lush English garden. Molineux has such an intense color in the cooler weather we're having now. Lisa, I'm so excited about all your beautiful roses and plants this spring. You always have lots of bloom but this spring it will be phenomenal.

I feel like I look at these and say the same things over and over but they really are SO beautiful! And that Baronne Prevost...I gotta have it!

Thanks, everyone! I’m sure they loved the extra rain, and we’re getting some more, right now. It’s probably the last we’ll get until November, so bring it on! I removed every single leaf from Baronne Prevost when I pruned. I wonder if that made any difference? Ingrid, maybe I should remove the central bloom, after it’s spent. Maybe that will give the rest some room? I’ve never had this “problem“ before.

Jin, yours looks great! I’m sure yours will give you lots more blooms as it matures. Mine just gave me a few blooms here and there for the first couple years. Last year was good, but this year it has exploded with blooms.

Marlorena, you do indeed see Orlaya. I have more than I know what to do with! It has reseeded like crazy here. Next year, I need to pull out more of the volunteers, although the Orlaya kept my gophers busy and away from other plants. It’s reseeded to almost the point of invasiveness in my garden. It all started with just one plant. Lisa

Carding Mill is starting up.
Felicia is building up buds, but has a few early birds open. I always wanted to have this clematis bloom with Felicia, but so far they have been blooming at different times. There is one tiny Felicia opening up down below the clematis. I also have Roguchii clematis on Felicia. It blooms most of the summer, so I’m sure this one will bloom with Felicia sometimes. Lisa

Lisa, I do remove the central blooms when they're faded, depending on my energy level and my spotting them, just because the other blooms will look so much better without the dying petals of the central bloom hanging on. Since life isn't perfect, and neither is my garden, I don't always get around to that. With the much greater number of roses you have I certainly wouldn't worry about it. There will always be something else pretty to look at.

Lol, Ingrid! I had that same thought, “Will I get to it?” Baronne Prevost is easily reached, and in prime view from my patio chair. That makes it more likely that I’ll see them in time to remove those center blooms. Thanks! Lisa

Lisa, your garden looks like you must work in it day and night. I'm seeing Bubble Bath for the first time this year. I thought she might have a little Cecile Brunner in her parentage, and she does. Just soooo lovely. All your roses are.

Does Baronne Prevost repeat very well for you? She has those short little stems that I hate to deadhead, like Marchesa Boccella, but they're worth the trouble.

Your MAC looks so right against your weathered wood fence. I'm still waiting for mine to weather and get that look.

Flowers, you have no idea what some of the areas look like that I’m NOT showing. Things really got away from me this year, and I feel like I’ll never catch up. I’m just thankful we got all that rain. It truly saved my garden when I wasn’t up to watering.

Bubble Bath is really putting on a beautiful spring flush. It’s about the most viscous rose I have, though. It looks so sweet and innocent, but the thorns are downright mean! They are small hooks that grab flesh without letting go. There’s plenty of them, too. I try to handle it as little as possible.

Baronne Prevost has been getting better each year on the repeat. Last year was quite good, with a nice spring flush, scattered blooms all summer, and a nice flush in the late fall. I think my Baronne Prevost will be about 5? years old this fall, from a band size. The first few years were just a few blooms here and there. They were beautiful, but not enough of them to make a big impression. Last year, I was impressed that I kept getting little flushes during the summer. I wonder what I’ll get this summer. The spring flush is much larger than last spring, but all that rain surely has something to do with it. I’ll be perfectly happy if Baronne Prevost blooms as much this summer, as last year. This extraordinary spring flush does have me hoping for a little more summer blooms than last year. We’ll see, but mine has gotten more and more repeat every year. Lisa

Lisa, I am so glad you described your roses. Last year I had more buds but this is second year first Spring and only 1 bud that bloom. I was thinking about you. You always say very encouraging things to me.

Lisa, we all have those areas we don't show in pictures. Right now, it's my whole garden. I can't do the clean up when the wind is whipping through here every day. It's snowing pine needles.
I picked up Baronne Prevost at Northland this afternoon, but put it down to go see if she had Paul Neyron. I got distracted and forgot to go back for BP. I really do get a little dizzy with all those roses and her huge selection of clematis and hydrangeas. Thank you for the low down on your BPrevost. I would like to have her again.

It's funny how some of the most delicate looking roses have the most vicious thorns. I'm always thankful for roses that can live a good life without pruning.

Jin is right. You are a good encourager.

Bubble Bath is so graceful naturally it doesn't really need handling or pruning. So at least there is that.

I LOVE Molineux roses! I bought a bunch of antique own root roses from Antique Emporium 2 years ago and none of them grew very much here in New York. Most are still tiny and spindly. My Molineux rose bush and Graham Thomas is the only one out of 12 own root roses that grew a few feet tall here in my Long Island yard.

When Molyneux blooms I am bowed over at how amazingly beautiful they are. No other rose that blooms in my garden looks as gorgeous as this rose bush except for Sunshine Daydream roses and Poseidon. Nothing is blooming right now here on Long Island as it has been a very cold, wet spring that has been raining almost every single day here. I am terrified that all of my roses are going to suffer from black spot and powdery mildew because of the crappy weather. My Molyneux rose bush has only just started to leaf out 10-12 days ago and there were a lot of dead canes from the winter that I just cut off the other day. I am praying mine will be even half as nice as yours! You have a beautiful garden.

I love antique roses and English roses, but sadly they do not do well here on Long Island and the only ones that seem to do well are bare root floribundas and hybrid tea grandifloras that I have planted. My favorite rose that has grew close to 7 feet tall and 5 1/2 feet wide has been Poseidon a gorgeous lavender purple rose that I planted 2 years ago. Really looking forward to that one this year ; )

Lisa - These roses are spectacular. You must have the right touch. And you still have lots of buds.

That Baronne Prevost is just gorgeous and so is everything else. I am so happy to see your healthy rose bushes.

Just saw this post. Your roses look very happy. I like how everything has a natural feeling to it!

I believe the abundant rains and Lisa's roses having gained some age are the perfect combination that is yielding her spectacular results this spring. I like to think that her clay soil over my decomposed granite also is the reason why she has more abundant blooms, but it's more than that. Lisa, you just have the touch! Please keep posting lots more pictures. I must say that Mel's Heritage is taking its sweet time, but so well worth waiting for. So is ?Grandmother's Hat and Annie Laurie McDowell. I'm wondering how much growth the latter has gained since last year.

I quickly removed most of the nasturtiums between taking the first and second photos. It’s done it’s job of providing some winter color. ALMD grew quite a bit. i think she’s ready for some wire or string between the white posts for support. Can you see all the new growth, Ingrid? I still can’t believe you gave her to me! ♥️

Mel’s Heritage is starting too!
My “Not Louise Odier/maybe Grandmother’s Hat” is blooming as well. I got one more shot of Molineux, but as you can see, it was getting too dark.

Lisa, I can't tell you how happy and excited I am about these pictures. The magnified photo of Mel's Heritage took my breath away. Wild Edric and Annie Laurie McDowell have found the best possible home with you. It would be awesome if Wild Edric had a sucker, and of course I immediately thought about Lily! Your garden is coming alive in the most beautiful and spectacular fashion. We're looking forward to lots more pictures.
