It appears to not be a large space since a chair is squeezed into a corner. If you want help we need to see the whole room and we need a to scale drawing of the space with details.

A few more pics with the room measurements will help & you will receive much more specific advice. Really need to know where your doors and windows are and what furniture you have or plan to get. Are you interested in adding colour(s) or do you want to stay neutral? Do you have any inspo pics to share? BTW,if the bed stays where it is, the rug would likely work better turned.

Edit to add: Now that you have shared more of your aesthetic.... I would address the window situation.next. You could do something as simple as an interior mount roller shade with to the floor Ikea linen panels or a lined roman. I would scale with larger headboard and bedside table to take up more space. Also don't be afraid of color. A colorful headboard will be a dramatic pop of color allowing for neutral bedding and make a statement.

Perhaps turn your rug the other direction and place it under the bed? Maybe also try some nice artwork on the walls and a table lamp. Below is some inspiration for you:
