Larri, that is just lovely.

I was on Pinterest the other day and saw several quilts done only in straight line quilting and they were quite beautiful. So we can't knock straight lines. I can't FMQ at all, so that is all I do.

I wish I had a better close up of all the fabrics. They are much more light grey & more tone-on-tone than how they appear in this photo. My niece's home has only white and grey in it, so I was doing my best to keep with her color scheme in hopes she'll actually use the quilt! :)

What do you mean by a 1/4" binding? Do you cut the binding 1"? I never heard of doing such a small binding. But since you'll are my quilt guild, I don't hear of much unless you post it.

Yes, the binding was finished at 1/4" on each side of the quilt. I wanted something just small enough to frame the top , as I didn't want to add a border; and also, so I wouldn't lose the points in the HST.

Thanks, Larri. When I started quilting, I cut the binding 2.5" per instructions I found. I did sew 1/4" seam and ended up with binding with do quilt inside. Then one of you ladies mentioned that you cut yours 2.25. I started doing that and liked the tighter fit. Maybe I'll try the 2".
