You just answered your own question! Give yourself a few days to get used to the covered doors. I think whether the rooms feel smaller or not will be more impacted by your decorating choices.

I like this option too. gives more of a finished look, but you still have the mirrors to bounce around light. on the pic below, you can do this yourself w/a slab door, 12x12 mirror tiles, and some trim work to hold them in place. prime and paint.

Thanks. You know, i went into a showroom and they advised me against glass since my closet doors are ceiling to floor, eight feet tall. They said that means each door weights roughly 80lb if they are mirrored. Strange though because the current ones don't weigh that much!

Replacing your doors will be special order because they are 8' tall. There is NOTHING you can buy off the shelf. Your doors are light because they are likely aluminum with fairly thin mirror glass. No matter what you replace them with it's going to be $$$ These can be viewed online at Home Depot
