Side yard has become an Ivy Jungle

I am trying to assess a few things regarding this mad jungle on the side of my house starting with what type of "stuff" this is. It looked kinda cool so I let it grow and then all of the sudden I looked up and its taking over the side of my house, growing up into the soffit attic vents, and is just an overall mess. I'd like to know how to get rid of it but am also posting under garden experiments to see if anyone wants me to preform any type of experiment on the Ivy before I do away with it. Let me know your thoughts, etc. Thank you!

Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia ).... yes it will easily cover the soffit and reach for the roof.

A close up or detail of a leaf would help but it looks like Virginia creeper, Parthenocissus quinquefolia.

If so, relatively easy to pull off the side of the house but it will leave residue from its holdfasts or tiny root 'pods' that are its method of attachment.

Is that your heat pump compressor? If so, it needs to be kept clean and free of plant overgrowth at all times.

Beware that Virginia Creeper can cause a serious rash in those who are allergic to it. The allergen is needle-like calcium oxalate crystals called raphides.

You may have some sanding and painting to do on the soffits, etc. A mess, I agree.

I blew up the photo and to me it looks as if there are two kinds of vines on the house, right? The darker green vine with 5 leaflets is Virginia creeper but the other one looks more like some kind of English ivy.
As the other posters have noted - get everything off and away from your HVAC unit!
