I've seen Cambria discussed a lot here, but I'm not knowledgeable to suggest anything specific. I do think that it would look great if your counters picked up on one of the colors in your flooring. In that first photo, it looks like lots of pale grays and whites (but that could be my monitor).

I think matte countertops with minimum movements would look best in this space. I would consider soft beige countertop like Canvas Quartz or Cashmere Carrara Quartz. I don't think you need anything busy or edgy. I think warm and toned down options would look best.

I would use Corian's Glacier White countertops. They will look fresh, crisp and bright, are bullet-proof and so easy to keep clean. Add an integrated large Corian single sink and you'll be good to go!

We would suggest looking into corain countertops. The white would do well in the space and has no pattern. You could also look into black or grey for a countertop, but it wouldn't be as bright.

Cambria's Desert Collection is very calm, almost uniform in color, and might work for you. Their classic collection have larger speckles but no movement and would work nicely as well.

Silestone offers a nice selection of near-uniform colors (possible matches include: Haiku, Vortium, Capri Limestone, Blanco City, Stellar Cream, Blanco Maple, Mont Blanc, White North, White Zeus Extreme, and Classic White).

Corian is another good possibility. I think it faded in popularity when quartz came on the market but it still has a lot of fans and it is reportedly (as Anglophilia said) "bullet-proof."

Could you post more photos of your space and ones that have better lighting as I think I see a red range in there and have no idea if all your cupboard fronts and island match the fridge front? It's hard to offer ideas when we don't see everything in this area clearly and could be affected by what is selected. And are you replacing both perimeter and the island counter tops?

I am in remote Wyoming and it’s snowing! I happen to have Cambria samples here - and pulled 5 based on your input so far. I don’t think I have a complete set of samples. The floor color is truer in the photo without the samples - couldn’t get the lighting right today. And, yes, we plan to replace all the countertops

It's hard to tell w/o better pictures but have you tried a light grey? Is your island the same stain as your cabinet s? Can you try to see if you can get a better lit photo of the island and even a close up of a cabinet. To try and base a choice off a close up the floor only isn't doing yourself any favors.

Have you considered wood for the island countertop? There’s no sink there, and a thick slab of wood might look nice and soften things up a bit. There’s a lot going on in there. Good luck!

Can you get your hands on some samples that are grey? And also some that are more creamy? I would even look at some that lean towards the same color as what you have on your island currently as that color looks good but with less busy pattern.

I think your area is leaning a bit more towards warm tones and the samples your pup is looking at are coming across more in the cool tones.

To lighten up your space, I think you need some under cabinet lighting in the corner.

Came across this photo that reminded me of your kitchen. I'm not sure what you mean by "lighten up" but wanted to show you that even though this kitchen has dark finishes that good lighting doesn't make it look dark and dreary.

I have a log home. Either matte or glossy will work, I ended up with glossy as there were more choices for me.

I am so not a monochrome person (but many here are).

A lot will depend on the light exposure in your kitchen how dark you could go, for what I see from your photos, lighter is better (but you do NOT need to go a solid white!)

I have to find some kitchen photos), and I'll post my kitchen photos. I am using Silestone's Eco Luna for one expanse. It is white but NOT just a solid white expanse thing, thankfully. You do have to decide what YOU want to see every morning!
