Trying to fix a bathroom renovation mess up

Redid the bathroom and want advice on how to fix this. Zoom in and see the vanity that goes into the door frame.

It’s fine. You want to caulk the joints and touch-up paint. Use painter’s tape on the vanity top to avoid making a mess with the caulk, just like you would if you were caulking around a bathtub. When you’re done, the vanity will “fade into” the door frame.

Nothing that I can see as a possibilty to fix that at this point.

Get a 18” deep vanity or have that yelling at you for as long as you own the house, “measure twice”. It’s not a bad thing to have a constant reminder to check all the details. It hopefully gives you the incentive to investigate about what you don’t know that you don’t know.

This is OK. for small spaces it is OK for the casing to accommodate the cabinet. Maybe try replacing with a flat Craftsman style case around the door, this will look more clean with the modern vanity. It is a nice vanity choice for a narrow space!

What's the dimension from the corner to the door casing? This might have been an instance where a pedestal sink would have been a better solution, or a custom vanity that isn't as deep as your current one.

If it bugs you, it's a do-over, I'm afraid.

I would take off the side splash .. I tried to do a mock up..

It doesn't hide the fact you are cut into the trim but it also doesn't point to it either. Unfortunately it will be a lot of work to remedy this.. Do you think you can get used to it??

Also I am curious as to why the sink is set so far back? Is that already an 18" deep vanity?
