I love the colors in this spring plant. I purchased 2 of them in 6" pots. I found they will wilt in heat, the leaves were the first to wilt, then the flowers. Keep them watered and don't let them dry out. Best to keep them in dappled shade. Once they are finished flowering, I'll cut them back hoping for a second bloom.

i sum up the situation.. in sun.. it gives off more water than it can suck up ... not unlike a hosta ...

so place them.. so they are out of the sun.. during the heat of the day.. when there is the most water stress ... but the most sun they can otherwise get ... say.. full sun from dawn to noon.. 2pm ...

dont know where you are.. so i cant go further ...

wonder if there was a name change ...

So pretty but not something I'd grow in my location, darn it. How long have you had them?

Hi rhizo,

I wish they would last all summer long. They are such a brilliant color. I've only had them a week or so. They are doing well so far, I just have to remember to water them every day to keep the soil moist. Happy gardening!
