What are these? Peonies? If so, I can’t imagine them doing anything other than thriving. Mine go bonkers every spring and have done so every year since I’ve had them. They need sun, and well drained soil - not wet areas. I have plant supports on all of mine as they simply collapse under their own weight without support. They are a very carefree plant. Enjoy!

Peonies are not like some other plants that you are told to cut off the flowers for several years to make the future flowers bigger if I am understanding what you wrote. The buds that will be greenery and flowers next year started developing two to three years ago depending on cultivar, so cut and enjoy inside if you wish, but wait until the buds are starting to open before cutting or they may just remain hard marbles.

You've got it figured out! Enjoy the long lasting blooms. You have the supported. Your patience is being rewarded. After the blooms are done and gone you have a nice green clump and yes, it will come back year after year, a little bigger each year. It looks like a very happy plant. Post a bloom when it opens.
