Is this Liberty? Or something else?

I transplanted this from another bed. I have a lot of hostas I bought in late fall 2016 from a local nursery’s annual fall sale. Liberty was among them but now I’m not sure I moved the right one. They originally had planting tags but some critter pulled most of them up. My planting schematic has them in close to the same place. It could also be Seducer or Victory, bought at the same time or the year before. I need a hosta that will get tall for this spot.


My 10 year old Liberty in another bed has much broader golden leaf margins, which are obvious even now when it is just unfurling. But I don’t know if that’s a feature that appears only with maturity.


This photo is from LAST year. The plant in question has just come up. My big mature Liberty in the other bed is much further ahead with emerging: but also gets more morning sun.


If it’s not Liberty I want to get it moved out before it fully unfurls. It’s just easier. Thanks!

    i dont think that is liberty ..... in your pic .....not yellow enough .... not pointed enough... and not wavy enough ...ken

      OK, went through more of last year's pics. It what you do when you want to garden but your yard is too soggy to plant your latest garden club purchases.


      This is the bed where I had dug the mystery plant from: which makes me think now that I dug out the wrong one.

      Top center: is THIS Liberty? With Seducer - mostly obscured - to it's right.

      i think your are closer on the last 2 pix as liberty ...


      but is that the one in the topmost pic???


      that first pic.. reminds me more of victory .... which came out at the same time as liberty ...

      the wavy edge is why seducer is called seducer.. imo ... colors might be close... but that waviness is definitive ...

      it is not your plant .... lol ...


      there is also a banyai plant called SOMETHING DIFFERENT ...


      and neither is that one your plant ....

      No, I am sorry. I should have been more clear in my second post. I will edit. I went back to 2018 shots of where the hostas I bought at the same time (2016) were originally planted.


      What I think I did was dig out the WRONG plant to move. If Liberty is one of the plants in the 2 second shots, it confirms that that is what I did.

      last pic above looks like liberty.. i cant see the plant from the top.. in the second above pic ... so cant be sure.. but if its the same as the third... bingo ...


      neither looks like the plant you moved ...

      If Liberty is in the second 2 pics, it means I DEFINITELY moved the wrong one. Because there was only one Liberty in that bed.


      I read a tag once when visiting a botanical garden: "Something to write home about." I looked at it, thought, "Nope" and walked on. (Don't recall what kind of plant: obviously I was not impressed with it).
