If I had to pick from those color scheme I would choose last one other than the pink. Not sure the would go with fireplace or is that a yen yang thing!! I know nothing LOL

Well, it would seem this room was not originally designed to accommodate a tv as I can see from previous comments. I don’t always mind a tv over a fireplace ( I’m not in that “ never” camp) but this does seem out of place with this classic surround.

It does seem to be the best place for it however. Wondering if it could be built in and hidden in some way!

Not a problem Denise. There are many different ways to go here . Getting your floor plan down first is more important and you have gotten some great input, now you need to decide which way to go .

bad news on floor, it has issues. The cheapest easiest route is carpet, do I continue green carpet from dining room. Or is it ok with different carpet? I hate carpet shopping so many colors!!!!!

What is wrong with the floors? Go to the flors website which is carpet tiling see if you can find a pattern you’d like in green.

I meant flor dot com. Here’s a pattern one that bring the same look in my visual for every room. It will give you a feeling of being in larger room and it’s light and will be able to accommodate the green Andes chair and the accented wall.

Are you going to have your floors sealed? It looks like they were sanded down but not finished. Are you thinking of doing a bound rug leaving just a minimum of the floor showing? Or are you wanting just an area rug?

Not letting me load pictures!!! Looks like sunroom was add on, 8” pieces added and not level. Then different wood and size boards in sunroom. I try again to load pictures.

Lyn all I did was rip out carpet no sanding. The problem is sun room is offset. So if using area rugs you would see that ugly patch and not to mention on side not level. With carpet never noticed it. I stoped by carpet store and picked up some samples.

That’s a shame. If the living room floor is at all salvageable it might be nice but if not then wall to wall with the same carpet in both areas would be the best. I see you have small children though and that isn’t the best flooring imo.

Less than perfect wood floors can look quite nice painted. If neither floor is worth refinishing I would consider doing the threshold and painting both rooms. Area rugs would add interest!

Is your walls leveled? Did you have a water problem? Your floors in that room looks buckled. Can you change it?

Claire no water damage, after long conversation think wall to wall carpet would be best. Ugg have to wrap my head around that. Lyn those are grand kids.

I would go for the khaki colors but as lynnartist suggested to place a threshold over to repair the flooring

Lyn this evening I will post dining room thought I had already posted one but I don’t see it.

Here I found one, those are register covers from living room in front of buffet

The living room is small and dark. The dining room is large and bright. Have you considered switching the uses of the rooms?
I don’t like the TV above the fireplace, especially in such a small room. Your living room would make a lovely and friendly dining room with a nice painting over the fireplace mantel.
The dining room would become a spacious living room with plenty of space for tv, reading and socializing. Of course, it may be a casual space due to the location of the kitchen.
Where is the front door?
A measured drawing on graph paper done in black ink would be very helpful. Show the kitchen, dining room, living room and front entry.

I’m sorry. I thought Theo sunroom was the dining room! So I assume the floor in the dining room is in the same condition as in the other two rooms. This is such a pretty house and I can understand not wanting to tackle the expense of the floors all at one time but having two different carpets in adjoining rooms just wouldn’t work for me! I still prefer the less than perfect wood singed.

I think felizlady May have a point. The family room might be better suited to the current dining room. As your furniture seems too large for the room it may work better there.

I would bro inclined to use that pretty sunroom as the dining room and the middle space as a library with furniture that is more in scale with its size.

Dining room should always be between the kitchen and family room or kitchen between family and dining space

you can add drapes between the family and sun room.

Ok so I should leave dining room where it is. I wouldn’t want to add drapes, love watching tv and seeing sunset. I’ll try a different arrangement later today. Thanks

Denise, how often do you use your dining room? I see you have an eat in kitchen. What do you use your sun room for? If you don’t utilize your sunroom for anything then it is wasted space that could be better used. If you don’t use your dining room very often then it is space that can be used better!

I never say never. I quite like your dining set in the sunroom! If you don’t use it that often then why not! It is such a beautiful room!

That sunroom could also become a reading area with built bookshelf nook. A craft room as well.

I couldn’t paint the floor and put down a pretty rug but you get the idea;)!

Prior to ripping up carpet I used as a sitting room to read iPad and watch hummingbirds. I got rid of chairs wanted new. I wonder if I could put two or four chairs with smaller table to play games with grandkids. I did like sitting at table because chair a little higher just enough height to see outside better.

I think it’s up to you how you best utilize these three rooms. Your current dining room is the largest of the three .
