Multi-functioning space saves the day

The reality of downsizing quickly set in when our kitchen countertop and dining table became dump sites for mail, wallets, keys, electronics and various other items. To help restore order, we contracted to have a cabinet made, which pulls double duty and gives us additional storage. With adjacency to my dining area, the flat surface of the cabinet functions as a buffet top when we entertain and at other times a desktop. On one side of the cabinet, we also have a built-in drop zone that is concealed from our open concept living area and now contains the clutter. I can’t say enough about the quality and functionality of our Amish-built cabinet, the ease of working with the cabinet maker to tie the unit to our existing kitchen and to do all this economically.
