He was heavy on the hybrid teas which were quite large , most blooms bigger or as big as my hand . Lots of minis and some Austin’s too .

Just amazing! Wow, so so so beautiful! I think CA is one of the best places to grow roses. No need to deal with hardiness, blackspot, and Japanese beetles issues. Love to see huge specimens and cascade of roses in these temperate zones.

It was a lot of fun!! I wish I had taken better photos of the whole areas . I think it was over half but under a whole acre summers . There was an area iff the side of the drive too that I didnt get photos of. And a path of hybrid teas that I didn’t show bc Lucia was being silly in every pic .. he had a pot ghetto as well as an area with many trash cans for fertilizer I’d imagine and lots of garden supplies!

I had to laugh bc they must have flooded the yard with sprinklers before the open house. It was puddles everywhere and one sprinkler had gone crazy making a waterfall. So I guess no water restrictions there ! Haha

the colors were so vibrant , much brighter than my personal taste but it really suited the back drop. Made me wonder if my personal palate of pale pinks and apricots will get lost in the sun here ?

Thank you so much Lilyfinch for sharing those pictures! The sunlight was so intense I almost squinted! Haven't seen that here for weeks! LOL! I lived in Southern California for 4 years and northern Calif for three years. I could grow almost anything! Sure miss it. Yes the intense colors are good because the lighter ones fade too quickly in the bright sun and heat.

Great photos. What healthy plants. I'm not into bright (neon) colours either, but I do find pale colours wash out in strong sunlight. But a mix of pale and stronger colours works, I think.

Kristine .. we did find a nice home on a small lot with a pool ! The house itself is perfect and makes me happy . A little out dated but just fine . The pool is the best part ! We will love that !! There’s very little garden space but I will make the most of it !!
