Looking at the milo website, it says to apply Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.
I apply urea late November, so I wouldn't apply milo. I'm going to apply milo this week, which is just 2 weeks earlier than they say, I don't think it should matter.
Question is:
My other apps were planned for August 1, Sept. 1, and Oct. 1. I was not planning on anything in July...
Do you think their schedule is better than what I had planned? If so, why?
Skip July. Grasses don't want to eat during summer, but the Milo people do have to pay mortgages and whatnot so they'd like to sell the stuff during summer. :-)
It won't do any active harm, but it really doesn't help the grass much, either.
The feeding window for May is pretty wide, as is the fall feeding window, but definitely skip summer...
I also did my app last week, always earlier than memorial day, and I do Light feedings all summer, only because my Lawn gets dollar spot and feeding it N kinda helps it and helps it too grow out., before I got dollar spot a few yrs ago, rule of thumb was NO Fertilizer after June to keep summer patch at bay,, which I used to get which is why I tore the lawn up and sodded , and I went by that since I sodded back in 2009...the weather here in PA is nasty and cold 45 today and just Raw and crappy, on the fence about mowing today or tomorrow ;)
