I take it you mean you planted Bud 9 with nothing grafted to it, or perhaps the graft didn't take. I would guess since you have flowers that some may develop to fruit. Not all flowers develop to fruit, I think because they weren't pollinated. If you have a good number of blossoms and you see another apple tree with flowers in the neighborhood at the same time you'll get some apples.

As far as seed from these you're likely to get the same results as for any other apple. If it wasn't a Bud 9 that the pollen came from. If you're lucky you won't get the results you wanted, instead you'll get some delicious tasting apple!

Nothing grafted on. Also not aware of any apple trees in the neighborhood, but this is in the heart of the city; so there are likely some flowering crabs around. In fact I know there are, but I am not certain that they are close enough, and I do not know if Bud9 is self pollinating either. Even if some fruit sets I do not expect it to be decent quality for fruit, although perhaps a second generation of Bud 9 rootstock. Most likely any fruit would be a bust all around, but still interesting to see. FWIW Bud9 flowers are on the end of new growth; so it is pretty obviously not spur type. It looks to me like it can be kept to 3 to 4ft as a flowering shrub by encouraging low branching, if nothing else.
