Does this look ok?

My first post here! I'm a guy and trying to figure this out for my small townhouse :) I wanted to know what you guys think of these sofas? They are Genoa from Structube. Do you think they look ok or should I go with something more modern/sleek look? These are considered 'mid-century modern'. I prefer modern sleek look but I haven't been able to find something in the size I need, so this was the best I could find so far. The color is light grey but it has very visible light green tone which I'm not a big fan of but it's not too terrible. I dont love them but they are comfortable especially with that adjustable headrests. I was also thinking maybe I should replace the legs with chrome legs? Please ignore the throw pillows, the rug, the coffee table, and the TV stand. They are all temporary and will be replaced with something better :)

I would definitely go with chrome. That would tie in the living room with the rest of the room. I like the sofas, but I would maybe forego the throw pillows altogether. I'm not certain decorative pillows exemplify sleek, modern lines IMO.

Also, I won't mind some suggestions on what color rug I should go for.

I like them , they look contemporary to me. a little more modern throw pillows would look good. I like the color ( at least what’s shown on the monitor ).

housegal200, you are right. The TV is actually not supposed to be in this room. The way they built this house, the sofa is supposed to be where the TV is, and may be 2 chairs against the big window. The TV is supposed to be in the 'entertainment room' in the basement. However, I spend most of my time in this area around kitchen, I need TV here for casual watching. I usually watch it lying down on the sofa so that angle works ok for me. I couldn't see any other spot for the TV in this whole area. And yes I agree on the rug. This is temporary, I'm planning on buying a bigger one. Just not sure what color yet.

Any other suggestions for the whole area including dining area are welcome! :) I'm also thinking of replacing the wall art in the dining area with something that has less white/black in it and maybe even a hint of color.

Needing the t v in this room, you may have room for slim line pieces. Then move the potted plant to the left side of French doors.

See if you can locate legs like these:

The sofas are more contemporary than modern, but they seem to suit the space. If they're comfortable, I'd keep them. And I think you have the TV on the right wall. It does need a console that is much longer than the width of the TV, though.

You could always replace on of the sofas with a couple of recliners, maybe something like this swivel recliner from West Elm:

Keep the wood legs on on the sofas. They add a bit of warmth the room is going to need.

Hu, I also see the green undertone in one of your photos. How do the sofas work with the paint? Paint appears to have a red undertone?

@karen paul interiors, the paint has very light tan undertone.

Apparently Canadians don't believe in large rugs. Neither do Swedes, I guess. I went to West Elm Canada for this one. Structube has this fine Jenson media cabinet, though.

The Sarla from Structube is a nice coffee table with legs and looks like it might be about the right size.

Be careful here. You've got a lot of chrome and glass and run the risk of ending up with a cold and clinical space.

    Some color:

HU-456etc., I just Photoshopped your room. Your dining is also contemporary, not modern, but everything will work. In fact, you may like super contemporary rooms--some people do--but I tend to find them slick and lacking in warmth. That's why I added wood and heavily textured pillows.

Just a thought..if only that rug was big enough for the sofas to be completely on it, would make that lounging space so much better. That’s a lovely rug, by the way.
