Um, am I right that that is a climbing hydrangea? If so, despite the aerial roots visible on the stem, those are supposed to be a bit more difficult to root than most other types of hydrangeas.

Regardless, I would highly suggest planting those in soil to try rooting them, and enclosing them in a plastic bag to maintain high humidity - and rooting hormone wouldn't hurt.

I do not believe they are hydrangea, I think they just stay as green foliage no flowers.

Thank you floral uk , do you agree that I cannot get roots in water and will have to pot them in soil. I do have a plant fertilizer here called plant starter 10-52-10. Would that be ok to use.

This species is best propagated by layering. There might even be pieces already rooted at the base of the parent plant. If you can't layer, take cuttings as Lyban suggested. No fertiliser.
