I would ask your niece how she made it. We are slime makers here (first grader) and we use all different coloring agents from precolored glue to colored food dye all the way to acrylic paint.

I'm fairly certain it's made from Elmers school glue and the activator they sell. It's the pink food coloring that's the real issue here, it appears to have stained the tan suede, even after the glue slime is removed. I was hoping maybe, if I put it out in the sun, it might fade...?

Try Sol-U-Mel. I used it this past weekend to get spray paint and eyeliner out of my carpet. I used all sorts of carpet cleanercleaners before, only to get any results. After using the Sol-U-Mel, there are no evidence of stains. And best of all, it's biodegradable.
