You are building the house in Texas, right? Then induction, absolutely for sure for me. I've been in Texas during the summer and induction is considerably cooler to cook with and less of a load on the HVAC.

Unless you meant to limit the "electric" choice to radiant electric models, in which case my vote would be for the propane cooktop. While propane offers an advantage for power outages (as may result from, say, tornadoes as seem to be hammering parts of Texas over the last few days), you could add a 20 kW whole-house propane back-up generator. If the F5 hits your spec house, all bets are off, of course, but if it hits the grid in the area, then that generator will be a major convenience. Would also take care of the fridge, freezer, the a/c, and etc. I'm seeing more of that offered around here (southern Montana) of late where we do not have many tornadoes but do have other kinds of weather-related outages and wildfires to worry about.

Neither. I'd want induction, especially if you're in TX where it gets hot in the summer. I have induction and will never go back.

It's a spec home. You don't want to be adding gas unless you already have propane in the design. If it's an all electric house, induction rather than radiant electric.

Big selling feature to have house wired for back up power generation. You don't have to install the generator, but you can get the house prepped for it.
