hahaha my daughter is also 17. hopefully we all live through it.

i have mulberry in the yard ... it was self serve for the kids ... my biggest fear.. was purple feet on the carpeting ....

one day ... age between the 2 pix... i find him near the tree ... with blue stains from the bottom of his feet to his knees ... finger tips to elbows .... and his entire belly smeared with them ...

i ask him.. rather deadpan ... sooooo.... you been eating mulberries???? .. swear to God.. he looks me right in the eye.. and says.. no ...

i had a feeling.. at that moment.. that it was all downhill from there ... and i was right ...

I think i see one of these in my future. How is the root competition with hostas near by? I understand and hope it is quite slow growing.
