I called the 800# to check on this 5APD10764, but they said this model can't be cut to shorten it down to 116" so it seems like it is different. Is that correct that it can't be cut down? The 5APD10656 says the rail can be cut down so not sure why this one can't be shortened. Please advise

Thanks for your inquiry Item 5APD10764 can be cut now since end caps are friction fitted and can be removed for cutting rail.
