I like the cream color of the giraffes. A solid would be great then it can grow with the room when you change into toddler bedding.

So if the walls are green I’d stick with a neutral rug or one that stays with the green theme. That would be your dominant color and then the blue can be the accent in smaller elements like art. Or if you like this blue rug I’d be inclined to keep the walls neutral. If you want this rug to last through the toddler/preschool years or beyond don’t rule out the Flor products (lots to choose from) as it’s extremely easy to clean just about anything out of it.

Having a hard time wrapping my head around neutral...I envision stains galore!

check out Ruggables, they are washable area rugs and there have been plenty of times I wish this type of area rug was around when my children were younger.
