I agree with the comment above but on top of that I would buy bright seats and sofas maybe the color orange or blue and maybe add bright flower near by

Curious how it would look to put white rail on porch between brick colums and down front steps?

It sounds like you're trying to lighten it up by adding on. I'd replace the brick columns with wood if you want to put up white rail. The roofline looks like a waterfall?

In my opinion, there is too much of the same brick on this facade. I would start by differentiating the center/porch area from the 2 side gables. First, remove the brick columns, which are too large, and replace them with more slender painted wood column covers. The brick veneer on the center wall - the wall behind the furniture with the windows - could be changed to a lighter (less heavy) material to match the white columns; consider a white clapboard. This would create a strong design, with brick gables on the side and white/lighter material at the center. I don't think you need to change the plan/footprint of the house - just the materials in the center. Good luck!

Hi....I totally agree with Prime Draft, you need to make the focus the center section, and removing the posts
and using a different siding it will soften the porch. My other suggestion would be to bring the entrance to the center of those windows with French doors, change the windows on either side of the doors with longer panels.
The original entrance can have a window as well, and with the new siding any damage to the brick won't matter.
The new placement will still allow for furniture on either side of the doors, hopefully not wicker, something more
current. Having a defined path to the porch is really important, I would remove the big bushes. It is always nice
to have a front door easily seen. A light gray siding would be beautiful with the brick.

I agree, too much brick. Direct visitors to the door by placing black ironwork or dark wood panel section (where wreath is now.) Choose a design style you plan to use inside your home. Add unusual lighting. From a head on view, it is hard to know if the door is to left or right. Place minimal seating to the opposite side indicating it is not the entrance end. Use color there. If you're brave, paint part of the brick a grey as suggested as a siding color. You could paint the brick columns and add a base trim made of stone or wood. Add the same trim as window base trim.
