Yep, an oxonianum for sure. I grow a lot of these as they coincide with my roses, act as neat weed suppressors and will maintain a garden presence even after blooming, with plentiful fresh foliage. Easy to divide and will gently seed around.

Embothrium, wow good call! I've checked out Claridge Druce on line. It appears to be an exact match for my garden geranium. The one already planted. Here is another picture of that geranium taken today. What is a bit confusing to me, is I'm certain that the name of the cultivar wasn't two words. It was one word that was a simple woman's name. However what I have growing is certainly Claridge Druce. So the person who named my plant must have been in error. That's the only conclusion I can come to. My new geranium does look identical as well. Campanula, I have geraniums growing with roses too. They make a wonderful plant for the not quite sun, light conditions of my garden. The above picture shows this dappled light which is typical of my garden. Here Claridge Druce is mixed with hydrangeas for the shrub, with white Bleeding Heart and primroses accompanying.

Another interesting point mentioned in article about Claridge Druce, is it tolerates drought and heat. I live in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. We have abrupt temperature changes transitioning from spring to summer. Much of our warm season is hot with no rain. Hardy geraniums can struggle with this. What I grow successfully are G. oxonianum 'Thurstonianum' with it's interesting small flowers, 'Wargrave Pink' with baby pink flowers, 'Miss Heidi' which is lower and more compact and 'Brookside'. That last one is a blue. I'm not sure I like it as well, as it is more open in growth habit. An example of the temperature change I'm referring to is only three days ago we were at 10 C. Yesterday we hit 33 C. Or in fahrenheit, from 52 F. to 91 F. in three days! It was the last day of May. Very hard on plants.

Roxanna here in Canada I have to rely on what nurseries bring in. Which is becoming less and less. If anyone knows a good Canadian mail order company for hardy geraniums, please let me know. They are my favorite groundcover plants. Truly wonderful and easy to grow.
