does anyone know what these rocks are called?

I try to explain these to landscapers and they have no idea.

Mexican beach pebbles...decorative rock. Comes in bags at specialty rock stores. Or where you buy fountain products. Its hard to tell the size in the picture, but thats my best guess.

I would agree, the stones outlining the labyrinth are Mexican beach pebbles. As mentioned, they come in bags so they are not inexpensive.

Likely pea gravel or possibly 5/8 minus crushed rock. Both easily available at your local bulk landscape supply store. Pea gravel is not great for walking on since it never compacts, but it also tends to inhibit weeds since it doesn't have the fines that fill in the pores.

Send them to the coastline of Cape Breton NS. They go as far as the eye can see.
