Our first seedling bloomed today. It is Daddy's Heart X I Don't Kid. I really don't know why I made this cross. It doesn't have the pattern of I Don't Kid, but it does have a fine metallic gold edge, which is what I'm really after.

Actually, this is really the first seedling to bloom the other day. It is about 3-4 months old. I would have snapped off the scape but didn't see it until the day before the flower would be open. At that point the plant has already put energy in the scape so we left it. It's rare to get a good bloom on a seedling this small. The cross is Triple Cherries X Let's Dance Tonight. It looks double (Triple Cherries gives a lot of doubles.)

Everything seems to be going really slow here with the daylilies.
