Those small solar lights used along pathways can be brought inside (if they are charged) and put in a glass or jar to provide light wherever you need it. Comes in handy during a power outage.

I love the Uline Touch-Top LED Lamps, but they aren't cheap. I have a couple.

The small flat round ones work also. We normally have a few of these around.

I also like, and have 6 vintage oil burning lamps.

My MIL recently gave me their vintage oil burning lantern but I haven't cleaned it up yet to use.

Linda, thank you! Great idea! Last night I noticed that the only lights visible were those of a neighbor who had little solar lights along their front walk. That's something to consider to fulfill more than one function.

Ruth, I wasn't aware of LED lamps of that type. THIS came up with I searched Amazon for "Uline Touch-top LED Lamps". 'Uline' wasn't among them, but I found them HERE.

Sorry to hear your power has been out that long. Hope some of the cooler weather that just came into north Texas will reach you.

Can certainly recommend this LED Bivouac light/lantern (JH-2588-11)... though no experience with this eBay seller. Imagine there are other sources. I got this for unlighted showers at camp where it worked well. It's still our go-to lantern when we lose power.

Tough, small, inexpensive, with 11 bright LEDs. My only rather trivial complaint is that the rubber padding on the case gets a little sticky to the touch after a few years. The small plastic hanger hook worked fine for me, but is not very robust.
