Look, I'd contact them and complain. But it's entirely possible that they have them mixed up, and will send more of the same. I had that happen with HOGR -- more than once.

I have very limited space (I might need to add a new flower bed) but I did a lot of research and really want Jude. A leggy climber definitely does NOT work in the space it's in so it will have to go. This pink one that's supposed to be Alnwick is ok, but I don't really care for the purplish shade of pink or the shape of the flowers. I don't know if Alnwick is a great rose to have or not, but at least I like the look, this one does nothing for me. I am curious what it is though so I can give it to someone "free to a good home" type on local classifieds :)

What is the fragrance of the mislabeled pink rose next to GC?

Angel Face for the mauve one? Sometimes they seem to be close in the alphabet to the one that was intended. For the dark pink, Justine Ramet? A Centifolia rose?

The fragrance of the one next to GC is a little similar to Abraham Darby but so faint I can barely make it out. I picked one outside and couldn't smell it at all until I brought it in. The little ones smell like rose soap. Sorry, I don't know all the words generally used to describe rose fragrance.

I think it is Justine Ramet! It looks exactly like the picture on the Rogue Valley website. Interesting point about the alphabet, lol! The other one definitely looks like Angel Face, and their website says it's a slow grower, which this certainly has been. I haven't pruned it at all and it's only half the size of Golden Celebration that I pruned pretty hard last fall. The only thing that doesn't match is that they say Angel Face is very fragrant. I have noticed earlier blooms don't have as much fragrance so maybe it will get stronger.

If you have another space for Justine Ramet that one is actually a very rare rose, if you are into collecting antiques.

H Kavarana, I also think you might have Justine Ramet, now that KS has put it my head. JR is a super rare old Vibert rose! Do you live here in Oregon?

If lacking scent, I have my doubts that its Angel Face. If we go with the mislabeled rose being nearby in the alphabet then RVR calls it ‘The Alnwick Rose’ so maybe it’s with the T’s. I checked their website and maybe your mystery pink/lavender is ‘The Colwyn Rose’? Not much on HMF about TCR though. By the way, I ordered Cornelia from RVR and got Compassion instead. Folks here helped me ID it. I adore Compassion with its long vase life and perfect healthy foliage so I am keeping it, but RVR seems to have a real problem with labeling these days.

Good catch Stephanie! It never occurred to me that they would alphabetize it under "T."

I read somewhere yesterday that RVR mislabels about 1 of 3 roses. I ordered 6 and got 2 wrong so that sounds about right to me :(

The Justine Ramet is growing on me, I'll certainly keep it this year and see what it's like. My daughter has been putting them in her hair and since reading North and South (and the date introduced being 1845) I think girls should have some roses to put in their hair, lol!
