Chandelier Canopy Conundrum

I'm installing an 80+ lb wrought iron chandelier and am having a problem figuring out what all the holes in the canopy should be used for. Right away I realized that the two tiny brass screws that the blacksmith supplied with the fixture would not be robust enough to support its weight so I bought an electrical box rated for 200 pounds that uses 2 X 10-32 screws to attach the canopy. I have attached some photos of the canopy. The question marks indicate holes the purpose of which is currently unknown. If someone could tell me what purpose these holes have I would be very grateful.

I don't see any marks on the picture. Does the center ring come off of the outer ring when you remove the two knurled nuts holding it on? If so, can you show what it looks like disassembled. I bet there's something underneath that is supposed to be mounted to structure (or an appropriately rated box).

I have no idea, but, I sure would like to see that chandelier. Love the Canopy.

Looks like it's made from found objects. Maybe the holes were already in it when the person made objects into a chandelier and serve no purpose for the chandelier.

Could be for a pull switch in situations where you have wiring in the ceiling but don't have it wired to a wall switch.

The third hole maybe just was a mistake, I know a lot about canopies, and this one was fabricated to where the U shaped portion is really what is going to bare the weight of this. Im not happy about that. Also you will need a pair of chain pliers to open a heavy cast chain and that wont be fun either. I would like to see what you are working with and suggest you go to a lighting store and order a real canopy.
