In my house, when I want to talk with more privacy [visual and sound], I stand or sit outside somewhere. I like the bench's color. If you post the entire house, it might matter. Is there any liked item that'd make sense to left of the door?

I just noticed that bench is indoors - still, if you like informal, it's not bad. Try a neutral-ish cushion....

I would add some wall art, and a few plants in pretty pots.

Everything is the same color palette other than the red orange bench. Your rug mimics your front door wall and door - how about adding color with a rug, that compliments the bench? You can also place some plants on the table, too. Having bought many houses, greenery softens the hard lines of an entrance.

Sorry but all that is just clutter. Put the bench in the backyard and move the table indoors. The entryway needs to be open. All you need is a large pot of flowers on the right side of the door. If you want more color and interest, find a more colorful rug.
