Contractor's bag as pond liner???

Hi, I am trying to add a shallow beach area to an existing pond so that we could grow some cattails and irises. Since it's really not that big, could I simply use contractor's bags? It's going to be 8 inches deep, and no more than 2*2 feet in size. The smallest pond liner I could find in Lowe's is 10*7. I know I could cut it, but It seems to be wasteful. Thank you！
