This faucet does have some positives. It also has some negatives. Having installed many faucets through the years, I can give you the following DIY insight. With time and advancement of materials, there is also the cheapening out of materials as well. We'll start at the drain. The drain from the el' cheapo faucet from the builder at least had a metal drain. The drain on this faucet is ALL PLASTIC!! The only metal part of the drain is the drain cover that you see when you look into the bottom of the bowl. The drain parts have been simplified, good. Mostly an all in one piece construction. So, advancement you not constructing the drain pieces like before, no need for additional teflon tape to attach. Style is very contemporary. The gooseneck spout is elegant and looks upscale in the bathroom from the builder faucet. Handles swivel nicely from off to on position. Let's go back under the sink shall we. The drain stopper is also plastic. The pen needle drain activator is typical but cheap as it plugs into the side of the drain. The pen needle screw cap is also plastic and does not thread as nicely as it could to the main drain threaded connector. The main problem I have with this very "CHEAP" set up is the drain lever located behind the faucet. It sticks! It doesn't glide up and down as it should. The drain lever slides into a connector that looks to be zinc coated. The method of "holding" the drain lever is a set screw that is screwed against the 1/8" wide drain lever to hold it in place. it doesn't do that very well!! No rubber or nitrile bushing/o'ring, no inscribed activation point to help guide anyone not just a professional to attach the two pieces. Oh, and you'll love this. The curved attachment piece has some signfiicantly sharp edges, that if you are not paying attention to the way you are holding it, you might cut yourself. I give it 3 stars. It isn't a $30 faucet but don't feel that it is worth the $80 we paid for it. The builder put Delta finishes in this house. If I were to change ALL of those fixtures to a more well made product it could get quite expensive. So, instead of recreating the wheel we are working with what we have. There is a house after this one we are living in, it will not have Delta in it.
