Not a pro. Above all, you need some bright color with your neutrals. What colors do you like? Are there colors in anything that you plan to bring in to the room that might inform your choice of color palette?

I like solids. Not florals or many patterns.
I was thinking white because room is so dark... maybe with sand accents pillows?? I want very nice bedding. Hotel looking... love RH bedding but it is too expensive!

Saw this one at kohls. Thought it was pretty. I do like the look of all white bedding too. As long as it looks full and has lots of texture. Brooklinen also has some really great sheets/duvet covers. I get the Percale. Sooo nice!

Are you hoping to keep it monochromatic and adding in textures or do you want a pattern and/or color??

Bed Bath and Beyond has 60 pages of queen size bedding!! It really depends on your wants and needs.

I chose J Queen bedding because I liked their patterns, but mostly I liked the style of window treatments they offered for each pattern. I got matchy matchy bed spread and curtains!!

But, I love it!!

You will be best served to find inspiration pictures of rooms you love and then dissect them to see why you love them. And why you do not. Color and pattern is very subjective and what works for one, will not work for another!!

Honestly, I love linen duvets and they add such a great texture, especially if you want a monochromatic look. I have found some pretty gorgeous ones on Etsy.com and they have so many colors and tones to choose from. Normally around $180 and handmade. Here's a shop to check out.

I don't know if Pottery Barn is too spendy - but have a look at their selection of linen bedding. Duvet covers and coverlets in really lovely neutrals colours and coordinates.

All of these items come in several colours so you can put together a look that suits you and would work with your furniture choices. The pictures came in as the main photo from the item, not necessarily in colours I am recommending for your room. Some items come in as many as 7 or 8 colours. You're spoiled for choice.

The trick to the really full looking duvets that you see in Advertising is layering more than one duvet inside the cover. It would suit me to have more than one duvet all the time, but it sure wouldn't suit my husband.

Mvcanada thanks for all the pictures! I really like those duvets. Have you or anyone here has experience with linen duvet covers? Do they look super wrinkled all the time?
I am afraid that in catalogs they look stunning and then in my bed with normal wear they’ll look very unkept..

I have one in use right now that is a very high linen content but not 100%. It is much better than I thought it would be. But I think you need to be prepared that linen is going to be wrinkled. When I wear linen I usually use a spray starch when I'm ironing it (I HATE ironing). But recently I've discovered that a steamer is a fabulous tool. I've never tried it on a duvet cover but it might be good for that too. Or maybe you just have to learn to love the wrinkly look.

Agree with mvcanada. I couldn't handle the linen. Too wrinkled for me. Sheets were not as comfy as I liked either.
