Help! Need Kitchen Advice

I have cream cabinets and a gray backsplash that is looking more blue to me than I'd like...yikes!

I need to pick a paint color for the walls and not sure if I should go light or dark to make the kitchen stop looking so yellow/blue.

Any suggestions?

what color splash would you suggest?

the last pic is of the adjoining room accent wall. Do you think it helps tie things together?

No. The splash has to go. It needs warm tones. Daltile Rittenhouse Square In Architectural Gray if you want a gray. But, There’s already an overload of gray, and clashing grays, in the house. The whatever else gray in the other room doesn’t work either. Bye bye to it too. It clashes especially badly with the red.

You could do with something with a lot more color than gray. A soft yellow. A warm green. An iridescent warm white. Even a chocolate brown, with the needed under cabinet lighting added. It’s edging far too close to a black and white photo look, and that look is thankfully dead.

The red wall is what we are covering up with the current planks - only an accent wall

I agree...nothing you do to the walls will ever make the backsplash work, unfortunately. Maybe a greige color tile that matches s color in the counters, or just an off white glassy tile. And a smaller format tile.

The bottom left is taupe (3x5)and bottom right is grey but looks like greige (4x12). Any suggestions?

    Top or bottom?

Top Tile or Bottom tile with this granite??

Personally, I like neither but that's just my humble (non-pro) opinion. I would lean more towards a cream/off white that blends well with the colors in the granite and the cabinets.

if it were mine I'd leave the backsplash, change the hardware to a cooler metal....polished nickel or stainless or even brushed aluminum and paint the walls a really light oatmeal shade.....[very light]. You have some options when it comes to grout color. The hardware you have is just ho-hum Can you bring in some sample hardware pieces. Herd mentality is all with greige tile.....but yours is an interesting pick. I like the larger format....the use along the two straight runs and with stainless appliances, your stools and furnishings is rather appealing if you ask me.You have to work with it a little bit . I'd keep it.

The grey is definitely too blue. I think something more in line with your cabinet color with a little bit of shine would look great.

Even after you change the backsplash you still have a problem because the gray on the back of your island and pony wall is also too blue.

    This is our island

    It's a dark gray/matte black color

Decided to go with this tile - it's called gray glossy and gives off a greige color and matches the specks in the granite better. I will post pics when it's done. I'm sure anything will be better then this blue we've got!! Thank you all for the suggestions!

I think the island color is fine with the granite. It's definitely less "blue" in the pic you just posted. I like the first backsplash that Momofthree posted but it might be a little too much "bling" for the space with the other elements.

I think that will work great!

Thanks ladies! I know lighting changes things. I looked at the new tile under my lighting and natural light and it seems to be the beat choice. I have to be careful with ivory which can sometimes give off a pink hue so I chose the greige - seemed like the safest option. Wish me luck!!

Karen Rose: any suggestions for grout color? Would Antique white work with griege tiles in my kitchen?

Updated Pics. We removed the blue/gray tile and went with a more greige gray tile. Grout is bone color and matches the granite and cabinets. Happier with this look than before. Now to choose electrical plates and wall color. Welcome to suggestions.

Thank you Momof3! I was so nervous the second time around after such an expensive mistake. Now to pick a wall color for the kitchen and adjoining room.

That looks so much better! Great job! I would've been freaking out too.
