Besides the landscaping concerns the biggest thing that jumps out at me is losing the shutters on the large window. They are ridiculously wrong for that window and don't add anything.

Put a colorful potted plant in the corner by the door.

I would remove that star, paint (or replace) that metal railing, get a new and modern throw rug for in front of the stairs, and maybe paint the stairs too to match your chosen color scheme

Like your house, try to replace the railing.... would go for black painted modern metal railing (horizontal design)

I think a new color on the body of the house would make a huge difference if you're able to paint it. A sage body with tan trim and mustard accents would be nice. as in the example below https://www.houzz.com/photos/lake-pine-drive-cary-garage-and-remodel-traditional-exterior-raleigh-phvw-vp~2115126 Removing the shutters is a good idea as well as scoring and staining your concrete drive. The Japanese maple is planted in the wrong place and will eventually reach 20 -25 ' so I'd transplant that before it gets too big. Another colorful tree on the left by the garage and some taller shrubs in front of it would soften that area. Make some curved beds and fill with low-growing evergreens, ornamental grasses and perennials as in my sketch below.
