Shaw Floorte Waterproof Hardwood

Shaw has a new flooring product which is like wood veneer for flooring. It's hardwood at top layer but waterproof underneath. Has anyone have experience with this product? Thoughts?

I looked it up and it says it's vinyl flooring?????

    I’m wondering the same thing!

@Renee Emlaw Please let me know what pricing you can find. Are you able to sand that layer in the future?

I'm looking at Floorte Hardwood as well and would be interested in knowing how scratch proof it is and if it can be sanded?

I just started looking at this as an alternative to vinyl plank. It’s interesting because each plank is unique since it is a slice of wood but it also has a waterproof finish applied to it and my gut feeling is that it can’t be refinished or sanded. I’d be interested in anyone’s experiences with this product

We just had this installed. We were looking for a hardwood product that could be floated over a glued down hardwood floor with obvious imperfections. This product ran very well and while it looks extremely well I'm not sure I could advise it at this early state. It scuffs remarkably easy. The first night we rolled our high chair over it and it left train track marks. Every piece of furniture has scratched it. We have felt under everything now - even furniture that had previously never scratched any floors we had at our prior three houses. It is a hardwood veneer over a composite core with built-in sound dampening foam. I'm quite worried that we're going to be looking at another replacement in a couple of years and we've only had it two days already. If you do not have kids or animals this could be a very good product; however, with kids, dogs, and Sandy South Georgia this product is likely going to be an exercise in failure.

Great coloration and each board is unique.

I just went with Luxury vinyl plank - It was less expensive, looks OK...I'll use hardwood or tile in my dreamhouse in Italy :-)

Thanks for the feedback Daniel. What color flooring did you select?

Daniel, Just had this installed in my dining room and there are nicks all over! We moved chairs and it actually put gouges (albeit tiny) in the floor! I am so heartbroken but would not use this particular floor again! Two days in...

Can anyone recommend a waterproof and scratch proof flooring other than Shaw’s exquisite?

@Margaret Leavitt wondering how your flooring is now? and was it Floorte Exquisite? the waterproof hardwood product from Shaw?? Daniel's floors looked very dark, I wondered if the scratches showed up more because of its tone. I am looking at the Exquisite for our entire house in the Safari Oak. Our other home has Brazilian Cherry floors from Lumber Liquidators, it is Bellawood. Those floors have been down now for 10 years & very few scratches, but it has a very high gloss finish. the high gloss is a very hard finish but I really want more of a matte finish this time. any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We decided to put in Coretec Advanced plus. We have to wait six months to receive them due to availability.

    Good luck with you decision.

@cnunn I looked online at Coretec Advanced Plus but couldn't figure out if it is vinyl or engineered wood. What did you choose? thanks!

It is a luxury vinyl plank floor. Scratch, dent and waterproof. It has a 15 year warranty. We chose Savoy oak.

You can order free samples. We tested it with scissors and nailsi. No scratches at all.

@cnunn If you have already installed the Coretec Advanced +, can you please let me know how it went? Thank you!

Our flooring will not be available till late October due to Covid production delays. So we have not installed it yet.

    Good luck

cnunn, how is your flooring, now that it's installed? I'd love to see pictures. I've read some things about Coretec Advanced + and would love to hear your experience thus far.
