I'm not seeing any pictures. Did you take a cabinet sample to the stone yard to hold up against the slab you chose? I think I would want to do that. Or better yet, that plus take the cabinet sample home and a small piece of the Taj Mahal and see how it looks in your home at different times of the day. That is how I made my choices for our bathroom cabinets and counter top. Many people recommend waiting on backs plash decisions until the cabinets and counters are in.

Bright white is ok, as long as it isn't a stark white with that cool blue tint.

Have you searched the photos on Houzz? Thousands of photos of TM with white cabinet.

If you love white subway, go ahead. Personally I would do something a bit more interesting.

If I recall correctly, the paint was Simply White. Tile is an ivory (white subway was too stark IMO).

Sorry that these pics are little off/dark- they were taken at night under LED's.

What ever you do, make sure you have samples (cabinet door/counter/floor/etc) and can look at them in differnt lighting. It will really help you decide.

You need to check your colors in person, with representative light.

Check my site for a home just completed with Taj & KM Swiss Coffee using 3000k lighting.

We went through the same process you are going through. We chose the Taj Mahal, which I love. I wanted a white kitchen and already had Dunn Edwards Swiss Coffee white on all our trim and cabinets, which is an off creamy white. Our contractor uses BM scuffex brand paint, and it was hard to get the white I wanted since that paint base changes the color, but it turned out ok. It’s not a bright white but looks good with the Taj Mahal. Many white subways were too stark white and made my cabinets look too creamy. Lots on here recommend a tile be Alyse Edwards, tongue in chic collection. I used the Bisque color. It looks expensive and hand made, not as stark as plain white subway. (I also liked the Shell color as a close second). It costs $9.44 a sq foot. Our kitchen is finally almost done. I’ll include some pics. Good luck!

Thanks MJ. I know it’s a hard decision but Taj Mahal goes with all white shades I think. It’s just finding the backsplash that goes well with your cabinet color as getting one that’s too stark white can make your cabinets look dingy, and getting one that’s too creamy if you have white cabinets doesn’t look great either. That Alyse Edwards, tongue-in-cheek collection has 2 that go really well with the White Dove color (which is similar to the color of my cabinets) That would be the Bisque or the Shell. If you go with the brighter white, they have a color called Snow that looks great. They have a few in a light grey or taupe you can try. The photos on line of their colors are not accurate. Hopefully you have a tile place by you that carries it and can hold it next to your cabinets. Good luck!
