MCM Ranch paint choices

I need some ideas for the paint color exterior of my house. The homes around us have been torn down and new ones built so mine is looking tired! We are also going to change some of the landscape. Working on that also!

I would tackle the landscape first because I might want to get rid of that left side brick planter. It puts a lot of weight on that side of the house. I would go to a dark gray color for the siding.

Very cool house! Likely this is a very solid house. Maybe a touch of light grey? Grey and peach brick look great together.

We were thinking painting the entire house

Again, don’t touch the brick!!! It’s the nicest feature on your house, that & it’s nice lines.

    I would not paint brick!

If you want to change the brick, go with stain, not paint. I would certainly pull out those stubby shrubs marching across the right side. You might have a pro arborist check out that tree by the chair. It looks to be too close to the house and leaning rather precariously.

We keep hoping a storm will come and fall on the house then I can build what I want! Haha! This is a 1957”

I think it’s beautiful, MUCH nicer than the generic crap I see being built today. A similar house on a much smaller lot would easily sell for $2.5 -4 million in my area, at least, probably more.

I think landscaping will make more of an improvement than paint.

One thing I do not like is the low brick edging. I can see that it is an original feature but those beds seem very shallow. What is the measurement? Would you consider removing it?

Things planted so close to the house give an impression of smothering it.

I do like the tall planter but would replace what you have growing in it for a trailing perennial or shrub.

I do not see a need to paint the brick. What color were you thinking of?

I was thinking of painting worldly gray exterior or white ( I Love white) again I have one of the remaining old houses. Everything around me is beautiful two story custom new builds I just wanted to look fresh! I’m totally open to paint options. The bottom planter is 2 ft deep. Yes I could take it out. Most in this area do not want MCM so originality will not necessarily appeal to the new buyer!

I love MCM houses I have one built in 1956 hunted high and low for one. Those whatever they are on the windows on the right need to go the planter on the left is very MCM and I would just plant lower growing stuff there . The white needs to be a much darker color for sure but the big thing is the landscaping . If you google MCM landscaping you will find tons of inspiration , BTW those homes were so well built you never get that in a new build .If possibel those window grids need to go and really cool MCM front door would be nice.

Yes, im not sure an all white house is what you want here, I dont think it reflects the style well. I also think you will be surprised at what the gray paint will do for the place. But most of all landscape would set you far apart from the side by each stick houses.
